David Sheppard
With over 35 years of real estate, accounting, and banking experience, David brings a wealth of financial and operational acumen to the company. He is responsible for coordinating the financial administration, risk management, audit, forecasting, and reporting of a residential portfolio in excess of six thousand units, and has managed over $1billion in real estate holdings. This includes serving as a liaison between the individual property owners and their respective insurance, lending, and municipal taxing authorities. He has been involved with multiple properties involving HUD 223(f) and 221(d)(4) financing, as well as conventional and syndicated structures. David is a member of the National Apartment Association. He is certified as a Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS).
Prior to joining Woodruff in 2005, he served as Senior Operations Officer and Vice President of SunTrust Bank, and previously held the position of Controller with Flournoy Construction Company, where he was responsible for all financial accounting management for this large multifamily general contractor.
He is a 1989 graduate of Valdosta State University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a major in Accounting and a minor in Finance. David is active in his church, where he has served as Technical Director, Small Group Leader, and as a member of the church finance team.
